BIOK LAB, one of the strongest Lithuanian-owned cosmetics manufacturing companies, is strengthening its business development function and announces changes in its management structure. As of January 6, 2025, Romualda Stragienė assumes the position of Head of Business Development.
According to BIOK LAB CEO Ieva Bieliūnaitė-Jankauskienė, this decision is a focused step aimed at ensuring faster company growth and the implementation of strategic decisions in day-to-day operations.
“Today, BIOK LAB is at a stage where strategic clarity and the ability to quickly move from decisions to action have become critically important. Romualda’s experience, deep understanding of the organization and strong values allow us to strengthen the business development function and ensure consistent, focused growth,” says I. Bieliūnaitė-Jankauskienė.
Extensive experience growing together with BIOK LAB
Romualda Stragienė first joined the Biok Laboratory team in 2005, when the company was at an early stage of growth. She began her career in marketing, actively contributing to brand development, strengthening communications and positioning the company in the market.
As BIOK LAB grew, so did her responsibilities – R. Stragienė worked on strategic projects, long-term business directions, teams and organizational development. For her significant contribution to the company’s growth and brand success, in 2015 she was awarded the Marketing Manager of the Year award.
Experience outside the company and academic work
At a later stage of her career, Romualda Stragienė continued her professional path outside BIOK LAB, working in business and strategic management, leading teams, participating in organizational change and growth processes, and contributing to top-level decision-making.
In parallel, she pursued academic activities – working as a lecturer and sharing practical knowledge on marketing, business development and strategic thinking. This experience strengthened her ability to view organizations systemically, work with people and develop long-term strategies.
Return to BIOK LAB and an operational role
In July 2025, Romualda Stragienė returned to BIOK LAB as a Board Member, where she was entrusted with the strategic oversight of the commercial function. At board level, she actively engaged in analyzing commercial activities, reviewing priorities and strengthening the team.
The decision to also entrust her with the role of Head of Business Development is a natural continuation of this process, ensuring continuity of strategic decisions and their implementation in daily operations.
Strategic priorities and development directions
Romualda Stragienė states that her decision to take on this role was driven by both business logic and personal values.
“My decision is based on two strong arguments – business and values. As a shareholder, I feel a great responsibility towards investors, suppliers, employees and partners who have trusted our business development plans. We must deliver on them and create the value we have promised,” she says.
Speaking about the near-term goals, the new Head of Business Development highlights clear growth directions.
“My key priorities for 2026 are strengthening ECODENTA exports and expanding contract manufacturing of toothpaste. Currently, we have available production capacity, can manufacture large volumes and ensure fast lead times. In European countries, we work with long-term partners with whom we consistently develop assortments and product awareness, but we are also interested in new, more distant markets – South America, Asia and Africa. In terms of assortment, our focus is not on expansion, but on the efficiency of the existing portfolio and a stronger emphasis on innovation.”
According to her, BIOK LAB is currently undergoing a significant strategic and cultural transformation, in which she aims to actively participate.
“I can initiate change as a board member, but I can achieve faster results by working as Head of Business Development and collaborating closely with the team. I believe in the vision of CEO Ieva Bieliūnaitė-Jankauskienė and the newly formed leadership team,” says R. Stragienė.
